Flute sheet music and letter notes
Every song on RetroX1 appears as sheet music, with the letter note and the fingering under every note.
Letter notes for flute
Letter notes name the notes: C, D, E, F, G, A, B. A ♯ (sharp) raises a half step and a ♭ (flat) lowers it. On the site, choose “Notes” to see only the names, or “Fingering” to see the holes too.
How to read the score
- Pitch: the higher on the staff, the higher the note.
- Length: whole (4 beats), half (2), quarter (1), eighth (½), sixteenth (¼); a dot adds half.
- Time signature: 4/4 has four beats per bar.
- Rests: silence has a length too.
In your flute's key
The same score can be played in the original key or in your flute's key; the site marks in red any note outside the range.
